As the time of this project, TINT’D was a new-to-market brand offering window film and graphics services. The company owner had a wealth of experience and expertise in the industry. 

The challenge was to build a digital presence so this new company could compete with larger well-established companies who enjoyed the benefits of name recognition.

My role

I collaborated with the design team at Tevao Creative to build the sitemap, conducted market research, and composed web copy for a new website. As a key part of the copywriting process, I worked with the client to shape brand, voice and style.

The process

This project began with market research, competitive analysis and interviews. Brand voice development followed in tandem with product and service-level messaging strategy. Finally, myself and the Tevao creative team got to work on copy composition and website design with medium-fidelity wireframes.

Pain points

During this discovery process, we discovered several end-goals considered when building the sitemap and composing the copy. The website copy needed to achieve the following communication goals:

Finding space with messaging: Find and capitalise on differentiating factors as a brand

Expertise: Bolster consumer confidence in a new company backed by extensive experience and expertise

Partnership alignment: Align with the 3M partnership brand

Diverse audiences: Appeal directly to consumers (residents), small business, and large corporations (builders)

Brand voice and identity development & research

With close collaboration with the Tevao team, we developed a visual identity and clarified brand voice, tone and style for TINT’D, based on extensive client interviews, competitor analysis, market research and competitive analysis of main competitors (3).

Composing & wireframing copy

Using voice-of-customer data and known decision-making persona, we began with the homepage copy. We presented a high-fidelity wireframe to the client for approval before continuing on with the remaining site pages.

This project underwent one round of copy and design revisions before live launch in 2022.
